8 Beauty Products That Are Actually Worth The Hype

I’m sure I am not the only one who has fallen victim to buying beauty products soley on the premise that everyone is talking about it. And I’m sure I’m not the only one who is guilty of making up excuses to justify those beauty purchases!

It is just so easy to do, especially in the beauty blogging world. You read that a brow gel promises to give you Cara Delevigne brows? Err, NEED! Glossy Kardashian Locks? How can I possibly turn that down?

It’s save to say it can become incredibly easy to be sucked into purchasing the products that everyone is raving about. But the question is, which best selling beauty products are actually worth the hype? If your feeling like this sounds a lot like you, here are 8 cult classic beauty product that I feel are completely worth the hype and money – so you can feel a little less guilty!

BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Face Palette

When this was announced, I immediately pre-ordered it. Maybe it was the beauty blogger in me – or the sheer fact people were going crazy for it over social media, but regardless I am so glad I did! Not only is the packaging beautiful (and incredibly Insta-worthy) the actual quality of both the blushes and the highlighters make it absolutely worth the hype and money.

It is completely what you can expect from BECCA. Smooth buttery highlighters and pigmented blushes that blend out effortlessly. It was also the first time I tried Champagne Pop (love) as well as Prosecco Pop which is slightly more golden toned – and they completely lived up to expectations!

Pixi Glow Tonic

The Pixi Glow Tonic, aka ultimate glowing skin in a bottle, is another one of those beauty products that I feel is worth the hype. It has been a beauty blogger cult classic for years, even to the extent that when it hit the shelves it was constantly sold out! I was a little late in the game but finally decided I would see what the fuss was about. It is an exfoliating toner that promises to smooth the skins tone and texture whilst leaving a healthy glow to your complexion.

What drew me in to it was that it contains aloe vera, ginseng and botanical extracts as well as 5% glycol acid which helps accelerates cell renewal, and as I have dry skin I am constantly trying to achieve glowing, healthy looking skin. This took a couple of weeks of continued use before I really saw the amazing results, but it lived up to the rave reviews. I use this every other evening in my skincare routine and it has made such a difference to how healthy and dewy my skin now looks.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks

The YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks all in all just look so exquisitely beautiful. The gold packaging that is wrapped around the YSL emblem looks so elegant and as for the lipsticks themselves they are pigmented, have a silky, creamy texture and leave the lips with a glossy finish. Although these do not have the best wear time they are perfect for the summer months when you want something that looks fresh and lightweight. The shade range is impressive and although packaging isn’t everything – they do look ah-mazing displayed on your vanity. I have a post on my full collection here if your interested!

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

Years ago we all thought that MAC shadows were the ‘be-all & end-all’, until Make Up Geek arrived and blew us all away. Not only is the pigmentation amazing, the shade range extensive and blend ability of the shadows impressive, they are completely affordable at just £5.50. These are worth all the hype they receive and I would definitely recommend them if you are looking to experiment more with shadows.

MAC Satin Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

Any beauty products Kylie Jenner mentions are sure to be a sell out. When she told us all she wore Velvet Teddy to create her 90s’ mauve full lips (and before she announced she has lip fillers…eek). it was not surprise that this was THE lipstick everyone wanted to get their hands on. Since then the mauve lip look is still one of the leading lip trends of the season. I personally love Velvet Teddy. As it is a satin finish it wears as a very comfortable matte and I find the shade compliments every skin tone I have seen. I usually pair this with Soar lip liner (another cult classic) to give my lips that slightly fuller look.

ABH Brow Pomade

This honestly has made my brows. I have always had fairly good brows but this pomade really helps to define and give more fullness to the overall brow and is also very easy to apply. This is definitely a product if you want more of that Instagram brow look, however you can create a natural brow with this by just using lighter strokes. I  recommend this to everyone who is looking for a new brow product. There is a reason why so many people swear by this, myself included, so it is definitely  worth the hype.

Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten

Any one remember this baby? It is an old’en but still a classic cult product that every beauty blogger raved about years ago and has won countless beauty awards. It is a classic champagne shimmer, that has a very creamy, buttery formula, and it is also very pigmented. I reach for this most days as an all over lid shade as it is beautiful and I know I can count on it to last all day.

YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch

Another classic, the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch stick has been one of those beauty products that has been a staple in many women’s makeup bags for years. Is it worth the hype? I would agree that it is. It is the perfect ‘pick me up’ product. Applied under the eyes it really helps to brighten the area that looks radiant at the same time – something that concealer can lack. I always reach for this when my eyes are looking tired in the mornings and it works a treat.

What other beauty products do you feel are absolutely worth the hype?
