Look Incredible Subscription Box: April

Beauty subscription boxes have been a thing for a while now, but I have always been torn as to which one to choose as some boxes can be amazing one month and then a complete dud the next. With that said, I love the concept of receiving and revealing new beauty products each month that you may not have reached for initially yourself but turn out to love and enjoy.  After much consideration, review and unboxing reading, I decided I would go for the Look Incredible Beauty Box!

This is a fairly new beauty subscription box that delivers five lust-worthy full sized products right to your door each month for just £18.99. The box is slightly more expensive than some of the others on the market, however where as others such as Birchbox and Glossybox provide samples or travel sized products, Look Incredible offer five full sized products that will always end up totalling over £80, so in my eyes you are seriously getting more for your money!

This is my second box from Look Incredible and yet again I am so pleasantly surprised. The brands they collaborate with are jaw dropping, working in the past with, Nars, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, Smashbox, YSL, Laura Geller and so much more. The April Box includes five full-sized products with a worth of £81.99, featuring beauty products from the high street such as Smashbox, Urban Decay, L’Oreal, Laura Geller and Velvet 59.

Velvet 59 My Fair Lashes Mascara – Full Sized RRP £19.99

If the box hasn’t won you over already, this first product has already totalled more than the cost of the box! The Velvet 59 My Fair Lashes Mascara is a deep black extreme lengthening mascara that's formula promises to be fast drying, flake free and smudge-proof. It is also vegan/cruelty free and 100% free of parabens which is awesome.

What I found interesting about this mascara is the wand as it is slightly unusual! One side of the wand is flat, which allows the tip to get to the hard to reach lashes without smudging, and the opposite side offers a thicker bristle, to add volume. This is an exact example of a product I may not have reached for initially myself, but I am really intrigued to see if this works. It will be hard to top the Benefit They’re Real though for me but we shall see!

I was very excited to see this product as I have never used (or really new these even existed!) a primer that is catered simply for under my eyes. Usually, I will use a lighter concealer to highlight the under eye area, but depending on the concealer this can tend to crease, therefore an under eye primer would be perfect. The Laura Geller Spackle Under Eye Primer is a hydrating primer that formulated specifically for under the eyes to brighten and reduce the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles.

This also seems to act as a two in one product, whilst the soft pearl will help brighten the under eyes, it is also infused with anti-oxidants that fight against anti-ageing. The hyaluronic acid and oat kernel extract will help smooth the surface and give the under eyes long lasting hydration. I have very dry skin so this will be a great addition too my daily face if this lives up to its promises!

Urban Decay Super Saturated Lip Colour – RPP £14
Urban Decay will always have a special place in my heart as their eyeshadow are just incredible. When it comes to their lip products however I am a little less experienced. I received the Saturated Lip Colour in ‘Crush’, a gorgeous bright fuchsia pink that reminds me a little of Girl About Town by Mac however just more glossy. The consistency is a creamy pencil that offers an opaque, high impact colour with a hi shine finish.

The staying power is about 3 hours or so, which is not bad considering it has a glossy finish. I think this is going to look lovely now that the summer months are ahead so I am really excited this was featured this month.

SmashBox Blush Soft Light Dup – RPP 15
The Smashbox blush duo is a blush and highlighter that worked together or individually, gives you a beautiful healthy glow. This has actually discontinued from the full range, so it is great that we have had the last opportunity to test this out. The blush is buildable and blendable, and has just a small amount of shimmer that reflects the light subtly. I feel this is a product that would be great for daily use to perk up your complexion on days when you need as little pick me up.

L’Oreal Nutri Gold Silky Day Cream – RPP – £8.99
The L’Oreal Nutri Gold Silky Day Cream is enriched with oil that maintains the balance of the epidermal lipids which will in turn intensively nourish the skin without leaving it feel greasy. The calcium helps to re form the protective barrier and prevents de-hydration, whilst the white jasmine helps to strengthen the epidermis, leaving it silky smooth.

This cream is definitely more of the thicker side, so if you are oily this may not be for you. If you have dry skin, however you will really love this. I have been applying this before bed with a thick layer and letting it absorb into the skin. The next morning it feels hydrated and prevents that dull and grey complexion dry skin suffers tend to have.

Overall I have been really happy with this months products and can’t wait to see what next month has in store for us!

Until Next time, Emma x
